A few weeks ago, our preacher told us a story during the sermon about how she was surprised by kindness one day, and how profound that small act was for her life. The moment occurred years and years ago, but she still remembered it vividly today. It got me thinking about the times that I have also been surprised by the kindness of others. These small and seemingly insignificant moments are often the ones that make the biggest impact. Moments when the Lord’s presence can be felt. And, today, after the devastation of the recent storms, strangers are helping strangers, goodness is seen across the south. It has been amazing to watch the hope that is visible through the generous gift of kindness.
It is a good reminder to surprise someone with our kindness today. You never know what these small acts of kindness or words of encouragement may do to someone’s life.
